Derek Romero Releases a Rework of Sam Tompkins’s “Lose It All”

On October 17, 2023, Derek Romero shared a reel asking his community to help bring his version of Sam Tompkins’s “Lose It All” to the singer. Less than a month later, Cabilliant released Romero’s dance rework.

The route from social post to release is central to the Story. Romero’s appeal treated his audience not only as listeners, but as a network capable of carrying a reinterpretation back to the artist who inspired it.

Tompkins later reacted positively to the version.

Tompkins’s lyric is built around vulnerability, fear of loss and the difficulty of expressing emotion openly. Its line, “I don’t wanna lose it all,” gives the song a direct emotional center.
