Derek Romero and Kendflow Release “WMDMT” After Movistar Arena Preview

Derek Romero and Kendflow just released “WMDMT” through Cabilliant. The electronic and bass-oriented single arrives less than two weeks after Romero used a recap of his Movistar Arena performance to introduce the track publicly.

The recap looks back at Romero’s May 1 opening set for Jay Wheeler’s World Tour at Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile. Rather than presenting the night only through stage footage, the video also preserves a quieter exchange behind the performance: Romero speaking with DJ Nelson through a video call.

During the conversation, Nelson encourages him to represent “Representa, papi, representa,” he tells Romero.

The phrase gives the recap—and the later release—context beyond a routine show appearance. Romero was not approaching the arena only as an individual DJ. The performance represented the creative communities and working relationships surrounding him, including FlowMixx and Cabilliant, before an audience gathered for one of Latin music’s major touring artists.

“WMDMT” enters that story as more than background music. Its first public presentation was attached to travel, preparation, performance and support between collaborators. Listeners encountered the track through the experience that surrounded it before receiving it as a standalone release.

The single also continues Romero and Kendflow’s established collaborative history. Their previous work includes the 2022 EP Last Train Home.
