DJ Nelson is a Puerto Rican DJ, record producer, music executive, and cultural figure whose career has played an important role in the development and international growth of reggaeton.

Born Nelson Díaz Martínez in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he developed a strong interest in music during his youth and began DJing at parties and clubs. His professional career gained momentum through The Noise, the influential Puerto Rican collective whose DJs, producers, performers, and club events contributed to the foundation of the island’s emerging underground sound. 

From those beginnings, DJ Nelson became recognized not only for his work behind the turntables, but also for his ability to identify sounds and artists with the potential to influence the future of Latin music. His early production history includes work connected to artists such as Ivy Queen and Wisin & Yandel, while his role in discovering and signing Luny Tunes helped introduce one of reggaeton’s most influential production teams. 

As the founder of Flow Music, DJ Nelson developed a platform through which artists, producers, and new musical ideas could grow. His catalog includes landmark projects such as The Flow, Sweet Dreams, Flow la Discoteka, and Flow la Discoteka 2, alongside productions and collaborations spanning multiple generations of Latin urban music. His work established “flow” as more than a company identity: it became part of the creative language surrounding the genre. 

Throughout his career, DJ Nelson has continued evolving beyond traditional reggaeton.
